A 1600cc engine in an RA60 will be weak as piss. Not worth the hassle of an engine conversion IMO.
Engine conversions are always hard, so you might as well make it worthwhile if you're going through with it!

Norbie...this is my first time doing an engine conversion and thats why i am seeking something with "more bang for your buck" others have suggested putting a ca18det in then some have suggested a 1g/1j... $$$ are a big issue so that "the more bang for ur buck comes into play"

I can't think of a better bang-for-your-buck conversion than a 1G. What is your budget exactly?

sheesh no wonder your confused 4A in a RA60 WTF.
as norbie said the best bang for buck in a RA celica is a 1G-GTE period.
check out this page and read the tech articles on the 1G conversion.

hate to go with the flow, but unless you're going to spend $$$ modding that gze, you'll find it's prolly not worth the effort of putting it in a ra6x. most of the costs associated with putting a 4a-gze into an ra60 are the same as a 1g-gte, except there's lots of help available on here if you run into trouble with the 1g conversion, whereas noone has done the gze --> ra60 conversion (and there's a reason for that)
just food for thought.

Actually, its probably harder to install a GZE into the RA60 than the 1GGTE Kinda points to me that its the better option...
