While i gan get mine to 5k comfortably, it really doesnt make any usable power past 4 or 4200.
Never baan game to pusi it past 5 in 2nd which is about 60kph acording to my speedo.

I clocked 40kph at 3100-3200rpm today in a 4AFC. Assuming you are in a manual, your clutch isn't slipping, you have similar gearing to mine nad the same wheel rolling diameter, 85km comes out at around 6600 to 6,800rpm by my elementary maths.

I once hit about 7600rpm in my smokey 4AC POS. I was overtaking on a LONG open road (it needs it), with the music cranked and not really concentrating. Then when i got out in front and backed off, I looked and the needle was on its way back past 7500rpm...
Its survived to this day though, tough bastards them 4ACs

95km 2nd gear 4ac, didnt have much left either, rpm was way up around 6500
110kms 2nd gear 4age, didnt have much left, rpm was way up there around 7700.
I prefer the second scenario myself.
Anybody else, please do tell

Stock Sprinter will make it to 100 in 2nd. Since I had a swap planned I didn't care about the 4AC and it saw plenty of 7k+. And 8k once or twice. Didn't have any power at all up there, but it didn't die on me either.

A mate and i have got a 4ac to 160km/h a couple of times no problems. 127 000kms on the clock. 5spd.
It seemed to go allright from 120km/h - 160km/h.
We stopped at 160 because it got a bit too hairy at nite.

I wouldn't want to take one any faster than 120, unless I had a full roll cage and race suit

Got mine to 165, but backed off cause it was getting wayyyyy light on the suspension! That and the fact it really didnt have too much to go.
A cage, helmet, harnesses and good seats are always a plus

My first 4A-c used all its oil and trashed the crank bearing on no.2 cylinder. Still dunno what happened to all the oil tho! filler her up and no leaks.... very odd.
Still, replacement sprinter 4A-C for $50. Bargin!

175KMs/hr. 310,000KMs on clock. Blown head gasket. Downhill, then flatlanding. Redline is meant to be 6000RPM. Will find limits of engine in 2 months or so.

When overtaking it sees plenty of 5k and seems to be ok with that. Went through to Tunanda the other day in the Barossa Valley and the roads are 100km/hr but there are so many 45km/hr corners with plenty of hills. Since this thing has no power had to keep it in 4th doing 100km/hr and the 4a-c had to sit on 4k rpm for around 45mins up and then again on the way back.
When driving around on those revs the car sounds powerful

I never really got my 4AC over 6k, it liked to hover around there most of the time... I did at once stage give it hell al the way to 6k for a couple of days and then managed to put a con-rod bolt through the sump ;p Therre was oil from one end of town to the other.... Quite funny really...
I did try to kill the motor before the 4age, didnt work! Ill drain the oil and water next time I get one to kill

I've done 160km/hr in a CS ae92 sedan, scary AS...
I'd never do that again in that car, stock as a rock....
I could have gone 170ish if i tried it again, i just needed more space, the road wasn't very big!!
