RA60 Metal Kings part number? Fri, 15 August 2003 00:53 Go to next message
Bendix don't really know that much about Celicas and Supras, checked up their online catalogue and it lists these:

83-85 Celica Supra - DB387 (Front)
82-85 Celica 2.8i Supra RA63, RA65 - DB265 (front), DB290 (rear)
82-85 Celica MA61 - DB281 (front), DB282 (rear)
81-82 Celica RA60 - DB265 (front)

Then goes on into the RA40 Supras hehehe....

Anyway, which one should I be using?!?!?!?!?
I'm assuming DB265.

Also, anyone recommend good shoes for the drums in the back?!

DB265 are the correct size for an MA61, so I'm guessing that's not right for an RA60 (from memory they have smaller pads).

I got burned by that web site a while ago; I got the pads listed under MA61 (DB281) and they were way too small! Maybe these are the RA60 pads? In any case, your best bet is to look at the diagram of each pad and compare them to what you have; when I did this is was pretty obvious which one I needed, because the DB281 is way different to the DB265.

Yeah, I remember looking at the diagrams and being able to tell straight away which ones I needed, but I don't actually have those diagrams any more! Sad

If the DB265s are for you then it must be DB281 for the Celicas...

Have a look at the other other thread about MA61 into Sprinter Brakes. Theres some pics of my XA6X CELICA struts, notice they are a square shape at the bottom, not like the DB281 they definately came out of a live axle celica. The part number is DB265.

I pulled a set of near new Bendix 4WD compound from another RA60 recently, these too have DB265 part number. They cost me $16 bucks, I love junk yarding Very Happy

I'd pull a wheel off if i were you just to make sure. Or if you're lucky you might be able to get a glimpse of the number through the wheel.
