yeah I have a similar problem. I worked it out to be the modem. My dialup modem really screws around with the reception, when I turn it off its perfect, when I turn it on it goes out the window. I guess the best solution would be to get an outside antenna

I don't even have a modem well not yet anyway. I have disconnected everything for a test and ran just the motherboard, ram & CPU. For some reason i think that it is the power supply, i may have to look in to getting a new antena, or maybe put the old rabbit ears on the roof

It will most likely be the power supply. Its usually the thing that is connected directly to the power that is causing the interference.
My mobile phone came from Hong Kong and has an adapter. Whenever it is plugged into the same room as our cordless phone my phone plays up and has mucho static.

agree on the power supply solution... try using a power board or alternate power source that wont cause electro pulse

Wrap your computer in a big bit of lead, that should fix it.

expensive my butt!
If you are not entirely a lazy person, upgrade all your cable yourself.
Now if you are one of those most unfortunate people who have the old school 300ohm ribbon cable, its not hard to see why distortion is so easily induced in your tv signal. Similarly can be said of dodgy RG59 coax and poor connectors etc.
My advice. Rip out all the existing cable and replace with RG6 QUAD SHIELD coax. This is the crud used for foxtel, optus, and satellite. Pinch a crimping tool off someone if you can and change all the connectors to the "F-type" (as with foxtel etc). If you can't get a crimping tool then stick with regular PAL TV plugs. If you have any splitters replace them also.
Cable worth $1.75p/m
plugs less than $2.00ea
Splitters less than $10.00ea
Hardly expensive
