GZE compression advice Sun, 17 August 2003 12:53 Go to next message
Hey dudes,
I have a bigport AE92 GZE AFM motor and im planning to buy an AE101 or late AE92 block with the 8.9 compression ratio.
What i want to know is, if i put the bigport head onto the map sensor version gze will the compression still be 8.9 or will it have dropped ?
Also what head gasket width do you guys recommend.. 0.8? 1.0? etc
Id want to keep it around 8.9 comp or drop it to about 8.7 as i want to run 16psi without any problems.. I run around 16psi at the moment on my 8.0 comp motor and its fine, but its getting a bit tierd and i dont want to do a full rebuild.

Reason i want to keep the big port head is because its running a turbo setup and i want to keep the inlet and exhaust manifold as they are.

Thanx in advance Smile

Freak you will have the same compression ratio regardless of what head you use. (8.9:1)
buy a genuine toyota 4agze head gasket.
you can buy metal shims from autoparts stores if you want to drop the c/r a little.
.5mm and 1mm i think they where when i last looked in the book at work.
