Birthday! Mon, 18 August 2003 00:07 Go to next message
My engine lives!!!!
After years of stuffing around, my 20V finally fired into life on the 16th of Aug. It's still a little rough but it was an exciting moment. Now I feel at least partially vindicated. Now I can have hours of fun fiddling with the handset. Now all I have to do is finish the rest of the car and get it engineered and registered.

Well Done.

My 1JZ powered BMW happens to share the same birthday.
I took it for it's maiden voyage down the street and back on Saturday, found out it has the wrong MAP sensor and was massively overfuelling, engine check lights etc...

A guy just happened to be crusing by in his JZA70 so I flagged him down and borrowed his map sensor, It went lots better, except for the stale fuel and small pump (next on the shopping list after the MAP sensor).

Then bolt on the big brakes and get it engineered.

How exciting.

ps. If anyone has a spare 1JZ map sensor lying around, please drop me a line. Thanks.
