Wow!! Goes from mega-lean to mega-rich!!

I didn't know that you could run that lean off idle!!!

Are you using the factory ECU or an aftermarket one? Is your engine AFM or MAP?

Do you have an air filter? What type of exhaust?

Troy, I'm pretty stumped. Can MAPs go suspect? Is your air filter clean? How much advance are you running?

Ribbo, same here... Clocks out to about 190km/h. But my graph keeps going up... Doesn't stop at 60kW.... hehehe

The blue line is my power after the timing was retarded to stop the pinging... I prolly lost half your graph at some points.... Grin

Sorry, just having fun with you 4A girls... Rolling

There is always a lot of discussion about this on the MR2 message board. Apparently this always happens when you put an oversize pulley on the MAP sensed 4AGZE. There are a bunch of people working on trying to get the mixtures richer under 3000 RPM on boost, apparently interceptors and things aren't helping.

The final mixture is pretty reasonable but you really want it to get down there much earlier. Programmable injection is the answer, expensive and inconvenient but if you want more power out of your GZE that's the way to go. This also allows you to have the supporting infrastructure to go to a Turbo when you're sick of the sluggishness up high from the superchager.

Or the other solution would be bigger injectors, then bring them leaner at a higher rev range with an intercepter.

Does it actually ping at 16:1? What boost is it reading at this level?

Hey, that's a good idea with the injectors, but instead of the inteceptor, all you'd need would be a bleed valve on the vac/boost line to the fuel pressure regulator.
I remember something in a recent zoom magazine where someone was making something like this, specifically for fuel press. regs.

It would be funny pointing out a turbo smart bleed valve in your engine bays, just think the stories you could make up when people say "but it's a supercharged engine???" hehehe
