HI all i am looking into getting a nitros system on my 20 valve,
i know from a friend i can run under 120hp and it can hold it.
i can also get a full kit of a friend with everything i need, including bottle and warmer.
now how would i go up againsed a chasser (1jz auto)running 244hp at the wheels, let me know what u all think,
regards Craig.

well, 244hp at the wheels sounds like it's bone stock, with nothing done to it.
so just look up the chaser figures on 0-100 and 1/4 mile.
I hope you didn't mean you were going to use a 120 shot of nitrous ... I dont know what the 20v internals are like, but since your computer wont be tuned for it you're going to have some intersting results in your a/f mix

when TUB11Y gets his FCD and a front mount that figure will raise to 280 or more, 244 was because he was hitting boost cut on the dyno.
i would say he will get you by a reasonable margin, i remember a 20V corolla getting around newcastle with NOS and his 1/4 mile times where high 13's from memory(actual ANDRA sanctioned time gear), TUB11Y will get into a low 13 high 12 with the mods he has done and with a FCD and intercooler.
hope this helps

My money's on the 1JZ wheelspinning past your 4A after you melt all 4 pistons and understeer into a wall.

haha thanks norbie,
truth is if i hade the money i would be driving a 1j in a cresseda, but i dont so looking at other mods,
brad (nos-20v) ran a 60hp shot and ran a 13.7 qm
i know that i cant run much more than 100hp on a stock 20v
but a mid 13 qm would be good enough, i know a 1j is faster than that, but its all about fun boys.
i cant say how much im looking at getting the system for its from a friend who isnt using it any more.

i would hate to think what a rebuild is worth... u would be better off getting a spar motor because running that much nos be prepared to drop another motor in... it wont handle that much the internals are light and not that strong, this is to allow them to rev faster, your going to put alot more pressure on them and bang........ i can see a shatered piston or 2 LOL
have fun though tell us the out come

norbie, that some funny shit, but very true.
neat 2o valve, what makes you want to do a cressida? i am intrigued, i know why i done mine 3 years ago, but i have heard heaps of guys in newcastle wanting to do them and i wonder why when there is already 5 of them in the area?
not having a shot, just interested, an i would be keen to see a 20 v on gas kill a few un knowing competitors,
i like seeing little cars killing big cars, like justins turbo colt, i love it.

well where do i start,
i will not be beeting the colt its a little out of my leage.
i wanted to buy a cressida because of the smoth look and nice interior, and the fact the a 1j could go in was an even bigger turn on, but insurance was high very high,
so im left with my little 20v, and yeah its good to beet bigger cars that think they will flog u, the gas system is looking at being my best option at the moment,
well time to save up for a gear box and gas syatem, then well see those gze's that have beet me in the past not knowing what hit them
well take it easy pepole
