I'm 27,have 20% no claim, and a fairly clean record. I was told I could insure my sprinter comprehensively if it remained standard for the incredibly low price of: $3600 a year.
if the car was modified,it went to $4800 a year, and most people didn't even give me a figure, they said to forget about it.
the book value for a sprinter is $1900 I believe,so this is their way of telling us they don't want to know about these cars.
my car is now insured for only third party property(which is cheap, and easy to get-$360 a year),and I watch it like a hawk.
start calling underwriters mate. if insurance on a sprinter worries you,you may as well forget buying one,as the age of the car,and the lack of available parts sets of even bigger warning signs to an insurer than the word "turbo". it would be easier for you to insure an R33 skyline than a sprinter.

for a car worth so little there is no point going for full comprehensive especially under 25 as there is no way u will get a quota worth ur time.
third party property on the othere hand is a different story.... im 19, sprinter, 4age, suspension, exhaust etc. don't bother with ur big name comparnies like nrma or aami as they won't do it. Im with Shannons no worries for $500 and something I think.
