You do know that if you fit a gze box to a 4age will have no performance gain? The ratio's are completely wrong for the 4age. Though if you still want to go ahead with it, are gearbox crossmember mounts arnt lining up propely?

Are you handy with a welder? the GZE mount's will sit completely to the side of the x-member. So either make a new mount or modify what you've got in the way of mounts available, or modify the x-member.

from memory, the AE82's (when looking from the front) is offset to the right and the AE92's is offset to the left. I haven't place the GZE box in and AE82 yet, only my AE102, but I have fitted a couple of AE92 and 20V boxes into these Both are the same, different ratios and they are a drama, especially first time! last time I spaced the mount out and it's going ok so far... I think this is the main reason many people run the standard boxes. The only way to really know exactly whats involve is to pull the one you've got out, have the top mounts done up, and start measuring the lower mounts and start modifying, that's the only way... sorry but that's the only way to do it

Bit of mucking round but it will work.
I did what Mikey pretty much did and it worked a treat.
RHS Mount - Use standard 4age mount.
LHS Mount - You use the standard 4age mount and the mounting bracket. The 4age bracket holes dont line up with the 3 on the gze box, however 2 will. Bolt it to those 2. Then weld a new plate on for the third hole. Now these holes have to be elongated so that the motor is pushed back a fraction towards the back of the car. This will give you the adjustment to get the clearence for the drive shafts, so they dont hit the body.
FRONT MOUNT - Take the standard GE bracket off the back of the standard GE box. Turn it upside down and bolt it on the front of the gze box. Holes will need to be elongated abit to get adjustment. USe the standard GE mount on the cross member, holes again will need to be ellongated for fine adjustment. I cant remeber which way it has to go. NO SPACER IS REQUIRED AT THE FRONT WHERE THE CROSS MEMBER BOLTS. JUST BOLT IT UP HOW IT IS STANDARD.
REAR MOUNT - This is the tricky bit. You use the standard GE Mount and the GZE bracket. The mount holes on the cross member have to be moved back about 2cm. One hole is easy to do the other takes abit of mucking around. Cause you have to drill a small hole for the bolt and then on the other side a bigger one so a socket can go in, bit hard to explain. Once this is done you need to put a spacer to the desired width. Desired width being that you like the gap between the drive shafts and body and also the angle of the motor, i think my spacer ended up being about 30mm which isnt to bad.
I hope this helps. I hope i havnet left anything out. I can get some pics if you like, To show you the cross member.

Hay TWINKY,
I just read this post you participated in a while back,
you posted some really good info on the 4AGZE to AE82
conversion regarding the engine and box mounts....
You also said you could send some pics of the modified
mounts and so on. I'm just wondering if you still have them
and if you could send them on to me ???
You can contact me on either MSN ofnaob4@hotmail.com or
normal Email trippen@lisp.com.au either is fine by me...
I've added your MSN address to my MSN so you can either just
accept or deny it as you please....
Your help on this will be much appreciated as I'm just starting
this conversion and I'm after all the help I can get...
Thanks heaps
