AE86 Weight Loss, What next? Wed, 20 August 2003 01:21 Go to next message
Hey Guys,

Im just wondering what other people have done to strip weight from their AE86's?

Ive removed all of the Air Con components, Rear Seats, Spare wheel and no stereo atm (soon to get one). I had the car weighed with the 4AC in at around the 910kg mark.

I would like to get it a bit lower but I would like to know what other people took out too?

run it on a quater of a tank of petrol all the time....!?!
are u after a race sort of car or just a everyday car...
either way change the front seats to racing sort of seats made out of a honey combe as well as a fibergalss night an light but costly... that should take off around 10 - 20 kg

At the end of all that theres fibreglass rear hatches available from NZ for a reasonable price... they weigh SFA and the metal ones weigh 40 odd kg.

I took my air con out and got some bucket seats but 900kg is pretty light for a car i reckon.

If it is an everyday car then you might have some fun getting a pink slip with the back seat out......of course you can put it all back in when rego comes up.
