converting a AE92 hatch sx for example:

Is it possible? if so, how?
what would be needed?
how much would it cost?
has anyone done this before?
is it even worth doing?

It's possible, but it will cost you <Dr Evil voice> ONE MILLION DOLLARS!

Seriously, this is a major engineering exercise which would basically involve re-designing the entire chassis. Worth it? No.

You could buy an AE95...it's AWD. Then you might be able to do something clever with the gearbox such that the front shafts are removed and you are only driving the rears......

*walks away thinking how shit it would be*

*refrains from asking if its possible to make an RA28 FWD*

Yeah dude, seriously, when a car has a particular engine and drivetrain layout, it is not worth the 1000's of hours of expensive labour and fabrication to change it.

If you want a nice little RWD corolla, then get yourself an AE86 "Sprinter", or something similar.

In amy of the FWD Toyotas, the fuel tank sits right where you want the diff in a RWD setup.....

Besides, Corollas are best in FWD format *grin* (runs away from the flames...)
