heard about the accident buddy - Bad luck
Hopefully your ok - and the ta22 is semi salvageable ..
Was looking in the trading post - came across this:
CELICA, ta22, WHITE, twin cam, 5 speed, mags, sports exhaust, new suspension. Mech, interior & exterior in GC, 11/03 reg-QNE379, no RWC, drive away hobby car $1500 AH: (03)59832963 BH: (0407)668905
Theres a pic there too - Its actually a Ra23 or a ta23, not a ta22 but still looks ok.
I know its not your car - but it might be an alternative if you can still afford a classic - and want to stay celica-ing PS condolances for roman too - for his mishap - lets hope yours is back on the road soon
Im thinking bad luck is out to take our Toyotas off the roads this winter - lets hope no one else falls victim to fucked up luck.

"Look mate, the only way to get the camber you want is to do your OWN wheel alignment. Just don't OVERDO it."
Looks like BOGking didn't hear the last few words Rather bad luck I must say, but so long as everyone's escaped with their skin intact. Didn't even get to look at the car today, but it's still sitting out the front of my place, giving passing pedestrains something to glare at

Dumb Mother F#$king D#$k head reporting in.
yeah feeling deeply depressed about hurting her soo bad and for my stoopid unexperienced actions, i wasnt being a wally but just pushed too hard on roads i did not know, But it was great that i crashed with toymoders around. It was time for something lik this to happen to mee, and when i think about, i hav to be real thankful that it happened lik this. i was not hurt and there where lots of ppl that helped mee(that i own big time.
thanks for all the ppl who helped mee out! mrShin, MrShin's GrandPa's Equipment, Big DON, KISS Man, Daniel and Roman!
yeah roman already PMed me a few leads that i may hav to regretfully consider. i really hope she can be saved, i know it is most probally betta to get a new shell and stuff, but i will just kick myself even more if i hav contributed to gettin a classic off the road forever. i will just hav to wait and see when i can arrange to get my car towed to get some quotes, i know its goin to be big numbers but i will cough it out to punish myself. but worst to worst i will get my self another ta22 and will do a huge transplant lik Roman.
will update u guys as i slowly get back on the roads.i hav learnt my lesson, but i will surelly not stop practising driving hard, BUT i will SURELY SURELY scout the roads and take it easy b4 i ever go hard again!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks again ppl.
but yes if u guys know of other good stock ta22 that i might need, if worst comes to worst plz tell mee, or somewhere i can take her to, that will not rip mee off.

The guy I'd normally suggest to you has unfortunately gone on a rather long, round Australia holiday. How's that for luck
It added a bit of, er, interest(!) to the night, I'm glad you learnt a lesson, but let's try not to have something stupid happen EVERY time we go out, ey Still, something like that is the BEST (well, most effective!) way to learn, so long as you don't get hurt...

Notice how i'm always a fair way distance back from the car in front of me? It has something to do with writing off my old mans 1960 beetle and being too close to the car in front of me. We all learn from our mistakes, and fortunately you weren't hurt from the accident. At least you didn't bleed, cars can be replaced, but scars stay as a constant reminder.
bogking: Having a look at the corner again whilst walking back to my car, it is pretty lumpy, so you can blame the road if you like
mrshin: I don't think jase was trying to be stupid, he just got caught out. O yeah apart from that I had some fun, chasing tail lights through the twistys. I started to lose you near the end of the last run, is it called black spur? but luckily you decided it was time for a break.

Bogking - I hope thats repairable - looks as long as the chassis aint stuffed - you might get away with it .. Lets hope anyway
if needs be i know of a silver ta22 here in colac - that has some rear quarter panel damage ( may need a rear quarter but the cars otherwise straight as ) you might be able to use as parts . guy wanted about $100 for it - and it had all the panels - mind you - some had rust but its repairable ..
let me know if you need help or are interested

hiya all.
first would lik to say thanks heaps for all offered help, it surely eases the shit i am going through. MrShin is being a Top Bloke and he will be towing her around hopefully on MOnday to the different Smash repair places around ringwood for a quote. i hav 3 in mind soo hopefully she will repairable at an ok price.
i will salvage all the parts neccessary for the Repairers soo to help reduce the overall cost IF it is possible to fix her.
As u can see by the pictures there is a considerable RELOCATION of panels and Structure. and yeah.. at least now it has a killer Camber. and hopefully it has only effected the Top of the struts and not too much structural DMG at the bottom. The top of the strut actually touches my Carbie pods and crushed it abit, but steering seemed to be ok... soo i dont know, i will let the pros look at it.
Aussie_Turbo: yeah it does really hurt. especially after putin all that wrench hours. but lucky i did it when she is stil NA and not too modified. teaches mee a lesson now for l8ta on.
Thanks for your offer of help, i will keep u guys posted.
Classique: well if worst comes to Worst, that Ta22 sounds inviting. again, i will wait and see what happens on Monday.
thanks.
C2888: i was actually tellin KissMan that i was hitin bumps as i was goin round that bent, but no excuse u guys didnt get effected,so it was just my bad judgement.wasnt the car's fault that she didnt stick cause i was goin to fast and wrong line.
4aGE:yeah roman had a lil head on, the day b4 or something. it was not related to the cruise, his front Rite corner was damaged. and yeah after monday i will see how i feel, and i will tell everything that happended. it was another interesting nite even if i didnt f#@k up. i giv u a teaser, flashin sirens and a speeding White and Blue 4wd was involved.
thanks again ppl. will update u guys as i find stuff out.

hey all..
its good to see that everything is slowly getting resolved.
i thought i'd have my 2 cents worth and confirm the fact that its true--the road surface wasnt too good round that corner.
i was following jas, like, 10 metres behind when it happened. it was just a bit of bad luck . (but also good luck that nobody got hurt)
and just to clear something up for 4AGE and everyone else--i was driving on my way to work earlier on that day, when some braindead moron decided to run a red light and smack into my car with his ultra-homosexual ford laser...and to make matters worse, i'm not registered/insured at the mo ((yeah i know its pretty stoopid but i cant afford any better till my tax return comes back))
so because of all this i have to cop the blame and pay to fix his car as well as mine
stu--ur so right--> this winter is the sh|ttiest winter ever.

A few of those corners are a tad rough... With those stone-dead-awful tyres on the back of my car, it's actually quite interesting for me at times, the rear likes to skip all over the place Guess I'm lucky enough to have blown enough $ on the suspension that I can usually either keep the car on the road or spin it in it's own length though. Thankfully!

in picture one. i'm assuming thats the original camber before the incident? looks like a good 5 degrees or more.
the damage looks repairable... i got a mate thats a panelbeater. might be worthwhile if u talked to him. he'll do u a decent job for a slab or so.

Hey all!
an up date.
okay! well its looking a bit betta now. i am much happier 2day and relieved. it looks lik she is fixable! MrShin and his Grandpa (aka old boy) took mee and my car around ringwood's smash repairers.
the good thing was that at least when i took it to the first place he said she was fixable, but he classed it as a RIDE OFF, in my head i was telling him to get F@#Ked. he quoted mee 1500. BUT i was actually silly enough to pay it cause i so badly want to get her on the road!!!
then i poped just around just next door and got a second quote and was quoted 800. all i wanted them to do for mee is to Straighten her up and i get all the parts for them, and i will bog a respray her. soo at least i save money and learn some more about my car when i hav to replace all the damaged parts.
i went to a 3rd place but they didnt even want to get close! cause she was soo dmged. he looked out his windows and just said no hahaha. then my lucky last place, the quote i got was 600! woo hoo! but hav to wait about 1 and half weeks but at least i can get all the parts needed to repair her!
soo i think i will be spending about the 1100+ margin to fully complete the fix up to get her back on the road. i need to track down a Right Guard, Bonnet, some part off the brake cylinder,i coil lead was cut, some electrical fuses or something was crushed, arrr soo pretty much anything that was on the wall of the strut, hopefully the Steerin Box's welds hasnt cracked, cause i acutally cant see the steering box and oil filter. but i can still steer and start her up and drive.
oo yeah 4AGE: the outside actually wasnt the problem, i will post more pics of the engine bay, cause the top of the Strut actually crushed my Carby Pods. soo there is quite abit of damage, i think the main chassis is only minorly dmged, but it might look lik i will need to get them to weld it up abit.
and i think its lik 10º, mr shin will hav to confirm that.
i will post something up in the Want To Buy parts section but here is a few things i need, if any1 can help.
-Bonnet, no matter wat color cause i will do a backyard spray for now.
-Right Front guard.
-Lower Front Guard.
also any one in melb so has got a ta22 for spareparts? i am sure i will need some extra parts along the way, no idea wat i brok on the Brake Cylinder, i will post it up when i got the pics.
oo well BACK to pick a part!
thanks ppl.
PM mee if u guys hav wat i need or i should need. thanks.

Dude - remeber i have that ta22 dowbn here with ALL THE BITS YOU NEED in silver - all youd need to do is get it out of the guys shed - and onto a car trailer - and theres enough parts on it to EASILY rebuild your car ..!
stuff pick a part
you might have to repair a bit of rust - but as far as i remeber all panels bar the rear quarter on this car are straight .. the boot is IMMACULATE - like new .. he has extra bumperbars too - but not sure on a front one ..

hahah well MrShin its your shout this time.and Ofcourse i will take up your offer
well we will see when u r free and when it is possible to pick it up and stuff, we wait and see how complicated it is goin to be.
Classique: that would be great! does the car hav an engine in it? it doesnt matter if it doesnt, cause wanted to know how easy it be easy to move about.
well i dont really need rims but if the guy wants to get rid of it with the car that will be fine, i will be happy to clear things up for him
Is it too much of a problem to arrange a digi pic of the overall car? just want to see how much work i need to put into it. The front Right is the main section i need.
thanks heaps.

hmmmmm...
maybe i should be going to some of your panelbeaters jas! my mechanic (whos fixing the car of the numnuts who stacked into me) told me id have to fork out $1200 for the other car!!!! (all for a bonnet/respray, front bar, and a pair of lights!
since when did shitty ford laser parts cost so much??
looks like i'll be performing home surgery on myself and selling my kidneys on the black market to pay for it all... you'll soon see them in the "parts for sale" section of the forums
oh well... im glad that everythings coming along nicely with your car jas. if shinny cant tow the ta from colac i have a mate with a towtruck who can do it for cheeeep. i got mine towed from geelong for $90.
are you coming tonight?? if you want you can ride with me.
let me know 9884 4957
or (at work 6-9) on 1300 884 664 and ask for roman

hey Classique, yep np. yeah i will just use it as a spares. but i will either arrange something with either mrshin or roman to get a trailer down to your place, i will ask when they can do it, either a Sat or Sun, and if it cant be done i will arrange something else then i will warn u.
hahah body parts.
1200 dam, roman that seems quite abit, but that is probally the most expensive quotes just to piss u off. yeah man, if u really want i can take you or that person around to get it looked at, and i am sure it will be cheaper than that. i took it to 3 in ringwood, soo it isnt too much of a problem for anyone i am sure.
and 90 to shift a car from geelong seem lik a good price to mee, well i will have a talk to mrshin ASAP, then i will try to work something out with everyone.
Thanks for the offer for rides. Mrshin offered aswell but this week i was too busy with work, but i will bug someone for a ride next week!
ooo yeah some1 update me! anything else happen this week?!?!?!?!something must hav happen!!! couldnt hav been that smooth this week!!! tell all in the NON WALLIES tread!

That's 3 weeks, not 2 And 'got hurt again'? Well I'm bloody pleased nobody got hurt the FIRST time, let alone again!...
As for what happend, the RX7 went over a pothole in a carpark, and, er, for some very hard to explain reason half the diff housing just collapsed... Could have been very nasty if it had have given way on the road I guess!

I'm thinking this week I might just bring the trailer+commodore in the first place, save going home and getting it As for me the other night, it was about 3 days past my bedtime, sorry if I was in any way sloppy with your car!
Aww yeah, and the ute boys are welcome to return - I might have to bring along some more like minded fools next time! Also, when we ever *finish* the 1UZ ute project, I'll bring that... with the trailer attached!

hmmm...that is a bit in bad taste..
next week you'll all be able to see my half-assed panelbeating job to fix the accident damage that you saw on wally cruise #2. (so i guess you could say 3 cruises-3.5 accidents, cos it happened earlier that day, haha)
yeah, so another colour (matt grey primer) has been added to my already mismatched colour car.
and yeah sheena-- that was us at the mobil servo, but it wasnt only me and yenda it was the whole lot of us wallies
jas--that quote was from MY mechanic cos he charges me next to nothing for labour, so that was parts, respray, etc. stooopid lasers-they should all be driven into the sea! (without running red lights and hitting me on the way )
anyways, hope all goes well next week, see you's all there

I think we gotta use a different term from cruise. I'm bit sceptical on it as 3.5 crashes in 3 cruises is damn bad. Drift mission??? Last saturday night i came down a side street at 130 cornered a 70 degree right hander at about 90kph. And hammered down a side street. I swear to god. If i got any closer than this i'd beat all of ya in Wallyness. Just around the corner in the first street on a the right there was a police patrol with its search light thing on turning onto the same street as i. I fully locked up my brakes and almost rear ended this cop. Lucky they were busy looking for some pervert or thief in teh springvale area . Jesus mate i fully packed myself. Almost the same way u would have it u smacked into an iceberg in Titanic. Anyways thats my story for a week .

Well if any of the cruises turn intop Drift-fest 2003 - you'll see me immediatly do a U-turn and go home - that shit MAJORLY pisses me off - especially on public roads ..
If this has gone on on previous cruises - lemme reconsider if Im gunna go on the next one - or not ..

Whoa... This was never quite the intention of me at all! Yes, I do some stupid things in cars at times, and have had my share of wally-moments, but one thing I don't stand for is hooning in suburban streets/school zones etc. My original intention was to see if there was a group of people interested in doing some driving on some of our more interesting roads, and maybe getting together for a few car-related events. Admittedly, the first night I did something slightly stupid, although not really dangerous - clowning round on an empty patch of mud is a little different to going blindly around suburban street corners! Take it easy out there all, and let's hope tomorrow night is enjoyable, not memorable!

Cruises are Cruises, not races! I'm not up for speeding through streets cause my car just can't do that and I loose everyone, Appart from the fact that it is illegal and dangerous. Come on, you've all seen the crappyness of my engine bay and heard all about my car troubles.
But keep in mind, the car that everyone has seen is my every day car and I work on the theory "don't fix it unless it's broken." Most of my time, effort and money (and my dad's) goes into my project car, the aim is to have that ready for EasterNats 2004.

Camping alllll the way It may not be cheap camping, but I reckon the value of your, er, neighbours makes up for the extra cost. Long as you find humour in people, it rocks!

Yeah, I went to the Spring Nats a few years ago and met some really cool people that were camping with us. One guy did a nudie run through Sheppaton back to the camp sight. I still see him every so often and it scares me!!
Camping is so much fun! That's one thing we should organise. A camping trip away. All cruise somewhere and set up camp for the night. My dad used to be part of the RACV young drivers and they used to do that kinda stuff.

I think we should try and organise a trip. Not too far out of Melbourne. Weather is getting better too.
