im looking at possibly getting a TA22 in the coming months as a sort of project car, as i dont want to touch the trueno as its my daily driver.
before picking one up though i thought id check out which conversion to go with and just wnated peoples opinions on this in terms of what the easiest, most practical and affordable transplant is? I was looking at a 3sgte? is tyhat a good or bad option?

some work would be done by myself id say..other stuff outsourced...what would be an estimate on the cost if i had it totally done by someone else?...that way i can work downwrads by doing bits and pieces myself

A 4AGE conversion isn't too hard as you can use the same gear box almost( just get one out of a sprinter) theyre fairly cheap now and is a desent amount of power
you could put in a 4AGZE or 20v if you wanted more power

Hi,
I literally completed the install of the 4AGZE into my TA22 on Tuesday night (wiring, exhaust, etc to go ). Anyone have the AW11 4AGZE wiring diagram?
It was not to hard, and my brother and myself managed everything except the cross-member mounts, which my uncle cut and re-angled. He is a welder which is handy.
The gearbox is NO problem, the engine sits a long way back (good for handling), and has clearance all round to replace pipes and hoses without taking the engine out. The heater hose out the back end was the only bit that required much thought. I used Sprinter engine mounts too.
Pulley, front mount intercooler, 2.5 inch exhaust = ~200HP.
SC 14, big cams, cam gears, head work = ~240HP
All this with the factory ECU. Easy way to save money.
A new BMW M3 has around 230HP per ton, a base model 911 has 240HP per ton.... TA22 weighs ~950 kg.....
That's my 2 cents worth.
Cheers,
Justin

Well jus for the conversion with larger cooler it was just over 9K but i didnt supply anything. i got engine series 5 13bt & gear box, cooler, Micro MTX 8 computer all wiring, Transmission tunnel Modified to fit gear box, tail sharft work, fuel system ect. But i still have to have a diff conversion and upgrade brakes well worth the satisfaction when you are driving her
