Can you feel the difference because there is actually more power, or that boost coming on becomes more pronounced?

Wouldn't putting a 5MGE/6MGE head on a 7MGTE basically turn it into a 6MGE with the 7M turbo stuff? ie. wouldn't you effectively end up with just a 6MGTE seeing as a 6MGE shares a 7M crank to make it 3l...?

when the 5M bottom end finally gives up i'll most likely be sticking a 7M bottom end down there
but dont see why to have a 7m head and go back to 12 valve head. trying to say something to do with how 6MGE makes better power than 7MGE?

Looks like i'll be going for some 7m NA cams soon then.
Yeah sure al i'll swap you my hi-flow T04E for some NA sticks!!! Hehehehe me he he muuuha ha muuuuuuuhahahahahahaha
i still set my alarm to go down in the middle of the night and make sure she's still bolted into the engine bay.
So Grande91 does she still idle smoothly? I dont want to loose the smoothnes.

How about a whole 7M-GE head for the hi-flow and then you would have to just get a bigger turbo

I dunno al, my $2000(min) turbo isn't worth the swap for a 7MGE head just yet.
So Grande is there any difference between the two heads or is it just the cams?
If not i might go through some wreckers and find a decent head and grind out the combustion chambers. Tony Rigolli showed me the other week how he was removing all the chunks of soft alluminium that shroud into the combustion chamber. Removing these soft edges that glow hot drops the compression ratio and reduces detonation occuring which blows these 7MGTE head gaskets.
His sons car is a Nissan GTS with a 7MGTE in it! I love it, 468 rear wheel hp with completely standard internals, had never been cracked open straight out of Japan.

no there's no dif at all, the difference is on one of the cam's, cant remember which,... i bought a N/A head from the wreckers not long ago for $300 complete, it even had the little plate on it, that tells you if it has been cooked at all,...i got it surfaced, cleaned up,and a minor port, and its on the shelf waiting for my hg to blow.... 468hp hey!,....thats Rigoli's, money money money, if we had the cash we could have done it but!!.... cheers.

Yes, me too. I need to try and learn me a little bit more about cams on small LPG turbo engines, wouldn't mind livening mine up a touch once I replace the turbo/cooler.
