My turbo has the common CT26 cracks around the waste gate, what will this affect? What causes this and can anyone repair this without buying a new housing?

It wont affect outright power, but may slightly affect boost response, as exhaust gases could be leaking past the cracks before the wastegate even leaves the seat.
You cant fix it. replacing the housing is the only real solution. Or fix the wastegate shut & spend $700 on an external gate
