Has anyone had any dealings with 'Car Consoles' Sat, 23 August 2003 06:26 Go to next message
i was searching around for custom car consoles and found this website, http://www.consoles.com/Toyota_choose_model.htm They look to have a pretty substantial range, and they are based in nsw. I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with them, as I would like to get a custom console.

Just check the quality. I used to deal with them on a work basis, they were made from three ply, stapled together with instructions jst to "cut with stanley knife for accessory holes". Staples were just punched into engrains of ply with no reinforcing in corners etc. Very flexible and prone to cracking. Stitching of vinyl was ok but could have been better, very variable especially along long lengths on corners. They don't like to wrap around edges/corners, just join as required. Also each console is made to order so waiting time can be up to them.
