Group A Supras

Does anyone know anything about the Group A Supras that were released in 1987/1988? In particular, how they varied from the usual 7MGTE Supras. I think the model number was MA70-BLMXZ.

In japan known as a "Turbo A" model ? (7m-gte)
LArger cams, larger different compressor houseing, larger injectors, TRD twin plate clutch, few other thing i believe.
And i could e talking about totally the wrong thing here, just thought thats maybe what you meant.

The Group A Supras were heavily modified, but they may have been based on the Turbo A. I don't know any specs but I'm sure a bit of Googling will turn up something.

Thanks - that sounds like it. Do you know where I could find some more specific info. on injector sizes, turbo specs etc?

i put it through google with not much luck. there probably is a lot of info in japanese that you'll have to put through babelfish to squeeze any info out.

Thanks for your help guys. There is a car being advertised in Perth as a Group A Supra, but it's pretty obvious he means a Turbo A not a Group A. Anyone like to put a price on a newly complianced import black Turbo A with 119K on the clock?
I haven't seen it but I assume the body is OK, that it runs OK and that there's no evidence of the dreaded BHG.
