I'm geting my koni Yellows on thursday...
I know i can't install myself so i went down to a place in keilor that does this kind of stuff... and surprisingly they have to cut the strut shorten it and then put it in there, which costs around the 700 mark, thats with new custom springs, so he sugested getting coil overs now, as thats what i originally wanted but he said they were to expensive, so now i'm going to pay $840 for
new custom springs front and rear,
coil over sleeves and locking mechanisms for the front,
all installed for $840, which i find very goooooodd price... when i was told 3k+ for coil overs for the ae86
Am i going the right way about it, or can you just take out the old insert and put in the new insert. which i wasn't sure about
also, should i get a adjustable panhard rod, I'll be going around 3inches lower at this point
the place i'm getting the work done is suspension center in keilor downs,

You dont HAVE to get the coil overs made, you can insert a spacer into the bottom of the strut to fill it out, obviouusly the coilovers would allow adjustability but do you really need them? What is the application?
BTW its not that hard to install them yourself.

what u mean application.... as what will i use the car for
plans for the car are occational club racings, with weekend hill climbs and motorkhana an option, while driving the car everyday,
I'm going for 325lbs front and 340lbs for the rear in spring rates, which i think should be aright, I've been in a few cars with these type of spring rates and it felt like what i wanted, so looks like it will be hard, but i prefer it that way
I know you can put coil overs in urself, but i feel its easier to leave to a pro, and let them do it also i have not the best welding skills, and knowing me will do something wrong with it, suspension and electrics arn't my area of expertise

Bought a full Whiteline kit, they include Koni Yellows. The strut comes apart quite easily. No mechanical expertise required to fit. Can't think why you would have shocks longer than necesary when mine were "off the shelf" items.

Agree with wraith here. If your yellow Koni's don't replace the original struts without modification, you have the wrong model Koni's. Almost sounds like the fitter wants to 'kill the pig' here so to speak.
