Call Jap importers. One of them might have one. Or someone on these forums might have a spare.

I bought a new dizzy cap from Castle Hill Toyota a couple of weeks ago. $55. I guess that is reasonable for an OEM part.

They asked me if I needed a rotor button at $250. I said no mine ain't THAT bad.

Talk to the importers, they generally have good stocks of spares.

Offer's still there to come down here and play in the Mixed team.... Very Happy

That I can understand, I've changed a few things for reliabilities sake, but with something like that I'd be leaving it alone unless it needed changing...

Castle hill Toyota stocks all these servicing type parts. I doubt you would get a cap much cheaper. If it was a falcon or commodore you could pick it up from Kmart for a couple of bucks.

There is another company in Sydney that imports new parts for import motors, but I can't remember their name, I will try and find out the details for you.

As for the rotor button, I would have a ask around, someone may have one spare that you could get. Mine wasn't too bad, so I didn't bother changing it.

hey mate
i replaced my button and cap at that price when i was chasing a missfire.....
along with a custom set of thundercords leads..... but it wasn't the prob...

i tried every wrecker i could and none of them had a button or were prepared to seperate it.

my advice is to leave unless you need to change it!

Cheers
Stew

Give Lander Motor Group in Blacktown a call, 9621 5955. Apparently they are importing and stocking OEM spares from Japan.

Hey Stew, what ended up being the cause of your misfire. It is always handy to know these things.

I hate it when that kind of thing happens. I did a similar thing with the Liberty I owned. The diagnostic procedure said my coil pack was stuffed and do you think a new $220 coil pack fixed the problem? Turned out it was a dodgy air flow meter. Figures, had to be a more expensive part.

hahahha

after much pain and dyno time at a reputable newcastle work shop..
a cleaned set of injectors and plenty of chasing including a new coil.....

It was a loose earth bolt.... it would rattle loose and get tight on the bolt at different times giving an intermittant problem.....

It's ok steve i don't mind... cause my car can still move under its OWN power.... and how does that power compare to yours again????? Laughing

Plus we could always talk about a garage incident that has put the car on hold a little longer Embarassed

Have a good one guys!!!
Stew
