Thats where I would go.
You could probably get aftermarket adjustable ones to suit

Or grab one from a wrecker that runs at the right pressure. I don't think it has to be a 1G regulator.

Malpassi adjustable for EFI, about $150-170
rising rate is about $170-190
cheapish and reliable.. you'd prolly want the non-rising rate tho...
i have a VL commondore one. not a turbo, but that might be a good place to look. they are external and hook up with hoses, and will be about the same pressure.... aren't most injectors about 250kpa?

Les,
I'd probably look into the adjustable Malpassi one. That way you could try to bring the fuel pressure down to where the stock one thinks it should be.

les, if it runs ok with the one pump i'd be guessing that the standard fuel reg cannot flow enough hence the pressure could be high, only soution is to remove it from the circuit and install an aftermarket reg that can flow a larger volume.

I have gotta ask the question though..
why do you now have two pump running in series? was fueling a problem before? this will not solve any surging problems if you had any. Did you have any problems with the fueling for the motor with just running the one pump? it seems like you re just causing yourself more problems than it is worth.

or better yet, put it on the dyno and check out your a/f ratio and you shoud put down abou 120ish rwKW so it's a good tool to see how your motor is going.

The standard ECU is supposed to run really rich under boost. Toyota do this as a safety measure to prevent detonation.
If yours is running lean it means that there is a problem somewhere. It may have been the pump but it shounds like you solution has caused more problems.
