Hey guys,

Still working on my car (I love uni breaks! Smile ). What is the best way to sand the sills running along the sides of the car? I've been using these drill-mounted 3M paint removers and while they work well for the body, its really awkward and REALLY slow using them under there. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking using another flat electric sander I have. I dont wanna use stripper, I don't want to introduce another variable that might react...

Thanks,
Nathan

Well, I've found for most of it, 3M Drill mounted paint strippers work the best. Its what a spray painter recommended for me. I've found in some of the spots like under the sills its too awkward though. They are pretty good at getting into some of other spots too because they are flexible.

I'm taking it all the way back to bare metal, and its getting 2 coats of POR15 rust paint below the primer. The spots that had rust have received an extra coat or two depending on the severity.

As for the spraying, I am in Perth, and a mate is spraying it for free. Very Happy

Haha, its actually a favour to my mums boyfriend, because he is storing stuff for him in his workshop. It wont be a show-quality finish, but I'm not on a show-quality budget Smile
