90 degree elbows? Wed, 27 August 2003 01:35 Go to next message
Where in Sydney can I get 90 degree elbows from for my intercooler pipping? How much does it usually go for? What can I use as a replacement?

Cheers
Andrew

What you want them made out of, $90 is expensive!

Cypher Industries in Perth sell stainless ones for $56.00. The mild steel ones are cheaper, and as far as prices go, Cypher usually isn't the cheapest.

Here are some prices on some Stainless I got for my Piping from my Invoice.

The company I deal with is TubeSales (www.tubesalesqld.com.au) in Brisbane.

63.50 x 1.6 304 SS 90 Deg Bend $19.10each
76.20 x 1.6 304 SS 90 Deg Bend $25.20each
63.50 x 1.6 304 SS 45 Deg Bend $16.20each
63.50 x 1.6 304W Tube $15.50/meter
76.20 x 1.6 304W Tube $20.20/meter

All prices are ex gst.

I got 4 each of the bend to do my piping. Totaled $252.01 for all the piping. Silicon was extra.. I got a 17 inch long tube piece orange silicon to fit the 2.5" piping for $70. I paid a premium for the 3" x 12" peice at $110. I also got 6x 2.5" T-Bolt Clamps at $3.20each and 6x 3" T-Bolt Clamps at $4.20 each.. All adds up. I got a friend to tig weld up the piping for me left overs so in the end it ended up costing about $460.
If I got the same done at a speed shop I would have been looking at $800 odd.. This job is just as good.

Im more after a silicon bend or other bend that can be used instead of metal. Mainly because there is limited space where the pipe goes and will hit hit the bonnet if i use a metal bend with adapting silicon pipe.

I can get metal bends really cheap I think its something a long the lines of $4 a 90 degree bend. My sister gets a staff discount where she works Very Happy

Can you get reducers as well? The outlets of my IC are 2.5", whereas the cast IC piping on the 1G is 2"...

call AVO in melbourne. they courier overnight and many places buy from them since they import the stuff. i believe it's a british brand of silicon tubing they use... can't remember off hand...

i called a few places and they all suggested getting directly from AVO.
