18R-g and 18R-C and 18Rs all use the same block so all the sumps will fit. im not sure but i think the only diference between the sumps is that the 18R-GEU sump has a windage tray in it. which stops oil from splashing around on the crank and causing drag. also to keep the oil pickup submerged in oil.

As Celica_RA40 said they are all the same block. Only diff is the oil pick up point to suit what body car (cross member position) it is in. so if you put a engine out of a ra 23 in to a hilux or visa versa you would use the sump from the car is going into and the oil pick up pipe only. Basically a dry sum has a pump to suck the oil out of the sump to a tank and a second pump pumps it through filters and back into the engine, this eliminates oil surge if the tank is big enough.

Ok all good so my 18R-geu will go straight into my RA40 using the 18R-c Sump and oil pump, or should the GEU pump be used?

Dry sump istotally different. It has a very shallo sump which catches the oil. This is sucked into a container which feeds a number of external pumps whcih then feeds the oil to the crank, cam and head galleries. Very expensive because of the pumps and all the extra plumbing and hardware.

Hmmm will it make a great difference using the 18r-c sump?? should the r-c pump be used or the r-geu pump?

USE THE R_GUE PUMP, The Twin cam pump is bigger to feed the extra oil required to the head, if you swap the pick up pipe only (the one with the strainer on it) over to suit the matching sump.
