Yeah, a lot of parts can be swapped around no probs at all. I re-use head bolts a few times before replacing. The cam belt is the same. Can't see why the head gasket would be any different at all.
For most parts, I buy that really cheap $2 a can degreaser stuff and just hose it on. The stuff comes out of the cam like a small firehose, so it usually does a good job of cleaning. For cleaning a head properly though, I take it to the local head shop and get them to tank it. Juts put a clean rag over the bores to keep the crud from getting in, it should be fine.

I used a genuine Toyota head gasket on my ZE, they are a different part to the NA - Not sure what the actual differences are though.
I got mine from Canberra Toyota.
Any 4AG cam belt will do and you can get them at any car parts place.

Hey Chris, Been a while, sorry about no reply to your sms, out drinking I think, *I THINK*.
Anyway, as suggested, use 100Kw head gasket. Only Toyota can supply them. I tried rocca and motor traders but I think either toyota only supplier or cheapest. ~$80. I always use Salisbury Toyota, never CMI. Head bolts were either $8 or 12 apiece.
I have seen the GZE, and am pretty dissapointed that rick split the thing as it makes more trouble. I think the valves and retainers are all in there, so you'll only be making work for yourself by stripping it to clean it and risk damaging the valve seals. Just do the best job you can with and put it back together. You will need to re-set the shim's aswell as rick did not number them, so expect some fun. For the block, just clean it the best you can. Considering it's recent storage, stripping the thing would seem over kill. If you do decide, come over and I can show you just HOW many little bits there are in there, I have a stripped 4ag.
Jaz Oh, give me a call sometime. I have 3 books that are about putting 4ag's together, including a little Japanese gem called 4AG II (how to build a 4ag without reading a thing. It is crammed full of pic's)

Jaz,
Swish, shall catch up with yer when me gets back from Hotham, on the 27th, if I get back in time and am not totally rooted, may see you on the cruise.
The Engine certainly is in good nick, just a pity about having to put the bastard back together. But atleast it'll give me a chance to have a bash at ye ole 4AGTE build.
