icon4.gif  Door - (Head)Light buzzer? Fri, 29 August 2003 14:53 Go to next message
Hey All,

Just wondering, is it possible to buy a buzzer when you leave your (parking/head) lights on that a buzzer sounds when you open the door?

If you can make, does anyone have any idea/diagrams to make one... I left my MA61 parking lights (& foglights) on accidently when i went shopping (and saw mates) and when i came out, i had to call my brother to jump start me Embarassed . (And yes, i felt like an !d!ot when i walked outside to see the battery flat)

Cheers...
[edit: spelling Embarassed ]

i dunno where you'd buy a kit or anthing but it wouldn't be hard to make n.e way.
you'll need:
- buzzer unit
- fuse
- relay
- about 5 meteres cabling (if u mount the buzzer in the cockpit)

just run a positive wire from the battery (through fuse to suit buzzer) to the relay, then run a positive wire from the relay to the low beam positive.
now run a wire from the door positive wire on the room light to the switch terminal on the relay.
you'll need to explain to an electrician what you're doing to find out what relay you'll need.
