Is a F293 Diff LSD? Sat, 30 August 2003 00:50 Go to next message
I just got a F293 Diff off a auto MKII supra.

I haven't managed to find out much info on it.

Questions are:

1. Is it LSD?
The last digit being 3 would imply that it is.

2. What is the gear ratio?
There was mention of 4.1:1 on another thread.

3. How does if compare to the F372 I currently have?
Keeping in mind that it will be behind a 1G-GTE.

A 4.1 ratio will be better suited to a revvy 1G.

some people like sitting down low in the revs doing 100, quite frankly 1 muffler and the twins on a 1g is quite quite, so I dont mind it sitting ~2700 in 5th at 100.. so the 4.1 gears in 4th gear give a good accelerations at that speed. and ~250kmph top speed in 5th bouncing of the limiter is more than your'll ever need.

Excuse my ignorance, but when your talking about diff ratios take 4.1:1 for example.

Does that mean there are 4.1 revolution of the driveshaft coming form the gear box to 1 revolution of the wheel or the other way round?

Or am I totally off?

So a 4.1:1 ratio would mean you have to rev higher to get the same speed as a 3.58:1 ratio?

Please enlighten me.
