watch out rick! he'll start lowballing you!
FWIW TS the BIG port is the 86 Kw 4age NOT the 100 kw version... if you had done some reaserch you'd know this by now. Also being a JDM motor chances are its un opened too
Rick, If you speak to Statts we both have a mate in adelaide who has a stock 4ac ae86 looking to get a 4age asap... He could be very keen!

actually, the VR commodore never had ECOTECH.
it was release in the VS, and that's why it's a whole new model.
so m113a1 is right.
putting the 4age engine into the aussie ae86, is easy, but if you dont have the tools, time, or experience to even know where to begin, then you're pretty much up the creek.
and if you went to most workshops in adelaide, they would say, sorry dude....cant help you. if they can, then it's usually for megabucks....
before i knew anything about anything, one place in adelaide, not mentioning names, quoted me 1800 just to sit an engine(bare block 4agze) into a ke30 corolla, and make up mounts. can you believe that shit? i thought to myself - fuck this....i'll do it myself. so i did. but i had tools, and unemployment on my side....
since then, many a happy conversion!!

Actually the VR did come out with the ecotech and was labelled as the series 2...I owned one before I saw the light (and all the kids grew up!)

I hate forums some times..people read to much into a post..
The (above) engine conversion in a comm-door is similar in difficulty to and engine conversion from 4ac to 4age into ae86.
Yes the loom maybe different, Yes there might be minor changes in the way the engine sits and works.
NO you don't need a new gear box, NO you don't need to extend the loom, NO you don't need new engine mounts..
All conversions are hard, some are harder, sticking a RWD 4AGE into an aus sprimter is easy compared to fitting a FWD 4AGE into the same car.
thanks toyotaboy for putting some sense into this post.
