What I'm doing is attaching the MA61 rearend in.
It should be a straight swap, hopefully I'll findout soon enough if it isn't.
I managed to pick up the whole rearend for the wreckers last sat.
As for the front that's a different story. Not sure what the engineer will have to say about it, but should be able to get away with the existing disc.
Nark managed to get get away with the stock disc and rear drums.
I guess it depend on the engineer.

Upgrading to rear discs is pretty easy as mentioned above; just swap in an MA61 rear subframe and you're set.
As for the fronts, unfortunately there are no easy upgrades that I'm aware of, and believe me I've been researching this for quite some time! Some people in the US have developed a "big brake kit" for the MA61 (this will work on an RA65 as well), but it's pretty expensive once it's landed here. Still, it's the easiest option I know of, so if you're willing to spend the $$$ just go to the CelicaSupra forums and search for "BBK".
As for myself, I'm planning a custom approach for my Supra. The plan so far is a pair of big Wilwood rotors mounted on custom hats, and Aristo calipers attached to a custom backing plate. This probably won't happen for a while though.

What engine are you putting in?
Since the RA6x share pretty much the same brakes as the MA6x, you're pretty safe.
My engineer just tested that the fronts locked up before the rears. And that was it.

Yeah, I can't imagine a brake upgrade being necessary for engineering purposes unless you're doing something totally insane. I'm wasn't required to upgrade my brakes after the 2JZ conversion, and that has 300hp stock FFS!

i could be wrong, but couldn't you fit an XT130 strut then go for the pug/hilux conversion. or are the RA6x celicas very different in the front strut design to accept the XT130 strut???

The RA6x struts are different to earlier Celica struts. They are interchangeable but you'll mess up the suspension geometry (mostly camber). The Hilux/Pug conversion wouldn't be a significant upgrade over the RA65 brakes anyway.
