flycut depth Thu, 11 July 2002 22:22 Go to next message
Hi all
Just a quick question about flycut depth's.
I'm about to rebuild my engine and before i do i need to know how far i should flycut (in thou or mm would be good) the piston's for my hybrid engine (3T block/2TG yamaha head)
I pretty sure i only have to flycut the exhaust relief valve spot.
So if anyone knows the answer to my questions would be very much appreciated if you could reply Smile

Cheers Simon

if its at all possible can you do a dumby rebuild of the engine and fill over the top of the piston with plastersine ? that way you can turn the engine over by hand a few revs and pull the engine down to see how much clearance you have now, then depending on what clearance you want to finish up with youll know exactly what to cut out of the crown
