Looking for V8Cressida...
|

...I sent an email to this bloke thru the forum, but forgot to put my email address in the message (School of the gifted! )
So, if anyone knows him (or if you're reading this) I'm the bloke who sent the enquiry re: putting the 1UZ into an MX83.
My email is biased99@hotmail.com
Also, does anyone know if the MX83 came with an LSD and, if so, what is the axle code for the LSD.
Regards, Michael

Michael,
If you are serious about doing this then when you sell the Soarer, buy a nice Cressida, buy a 1UZ with front sump, auto and ECU, buy an engine crane, buy a MIG welder, buy an angle grinder and commence work! If you run into trouble, give me a call and I'll help you through it.
For those that didn't work it out. Yes I am "V8Cressida", yes I am in trouble with Vicki for modifying the Cressida and Yes I am turning into a grumpy old bastard!
Cheers, Darren.

Hi Darren, Yes, I'm reasonably serious about this... We've looked at an '89 GLX which will make an ideal "donor", in that it has most of the options (incl. electric sunroof etc), and appears in good nick...anyone want a 7M-GE and A340E??? I also know of a bloke who is selling a front-sump 1UZ...BTW do the front-sumps come standard with the LS400/Celsiors???
I can understand your "grumpiness". given that you have probably been inundated with enquiries about the conversion etc.
If you can be stuffed, however, I would like whatever info you can provide...
Regards,

Darren,
Maybe Vicki and I should start a club.
Something along the lines of:
"The Toymods Widows Conversion Club".
I am sure that I can drum up a few members.
As for being in the shit with Vicki - Just ask Rod what he does - he is ALWAYS in the sh*t with me concerning cars!!!!
Hugs

Tina,
haha, she doesn't need any encouragement from other car widows thanks!!
Given that I've only really been in the shit once, maybe I can give Rod some tips! Although, a mate dropped his Skyline sports sedan off at my place on the weekend and I think I'm back in the shit again for that......
Darren.

Alex,
The following are the 3 conditions of me being able to buy the Cressida in the first place...
1. The Escort goes! 2. The Cressida stays unmodified! 3. Vicki gets to park her car in the garage!
The escort went, the Cressida got a V8, and the garage has the Celica and the Skyline in it... hence the whole other world of shit that I'm in!!!

Hang on a minute...
Alex, yes he could be much more deeply in the SHIT!!!
Darren, You told me you were doing an oil change on the cressida, I didn't realise that included the whole engine...
I thought you said the skyline was only staying for a few days....
You didn't mention a whole front cut, only an engine....
I'd like to talk to you when you get home...

AH SHIT!! Thanks Smythie!!
Biased, like I said in my first reply... have a go at it, if you get stuck let me know and I'll help you through it. I, and other guys I know, have given up going into detail on conversions unless people are serious enough to buy the bits and start work.
The last time I did go into lots of detail was with a guy that wanted to put a 1G into a Celica. In the end I told him to come out and have a look at my car on the following saturday, even go for a ride in it, the reply I got was he couldn't make it on a Saturday because his mum had to work.....
