WTB: Gearbox to suit a 4ag 20 valve Mon, 01 September 2003 00:31 Go to next message
Hi all!
Just wondering if anyone has a gearbox which would suit a 4ag 20 valve?
I am doing a engine swap, so let me know
It can be either rear wheel drive or front wheel drive!

fwd easy to find, shipping is the expensive bit.

i have a c56 left (fwd tranny) off one of a silver top 20v. as removed from the motor, $150. + shipping

being perfectly honest, no idea, it's off a jap import motor, with whatever was on it when we got the motor(s) no idea on k's.

sold 2 last week already. we resell 20v motors (for clubmans)so we get them all the time.

it bolts straight on. no mods required (other than removing the electronic speedo sender and fititng the mechanical one - they pull out after you remove one bolt)

T, did you say C56?? I thought C56's were off blacktop 20v??

Can you confirm that it is a C56 close ratio box?

ahh, brett i don't think you want a rwd gearbox for your fwd ae92.
might be a good anchor for your dinghy though.

sorry i've been away interstate on business

these gearboxes are fwd, c56 off silver top 20v. blacktop comes with either the c56 or the c60. the c60 is the 6 speed. can sometimes get them as well, but somewhat more expensive!!!!

think they are about 45kg inc the 1/2 shaft and cut c/v's.

any gearbox could be optioned up with an aftermarket lsd, but the blacktop 6 speeds ,and the 4agze powered corollas & mr2's could be optioned with a factory one - not standard fitment!!

expect to pay a premium for an lsd equipped box

I have a FWD gear box off a 20valve, it came off the engine i'm putting in the corona.

It's not needed i'm not sure what condition it is in but it looks ok to me.

The gearbox came out of a half cut i had the engine and gearbox running before we pulled it apart, it had no noise.

Make an offer i'm in Syd

regards

Will
