What 4AG goes with this ECU? Mon, 01 September 2003 02:00 Go to next message
I have a 4AG computer, but not 100% sure what kind of 4AG it comes from. I suspect that it is for a 4AG-ZE, and somebody I showed it to reckons it's for a GZ with a AFM (air flow meter). Can any one confirm this? The label reads:

Engine Control
Toyota
89661-12031
ND 175700-0520 12V

By the way, it's for sale as soon as I know for sure what it is (I'll post it in the parts for sale section). Ta.

Oh - do different computer have different pin plugs?
If it helps, the yellow/green pin outs are (from left to right, as written on the sticker): 10P (p for pin, I assume) 18P 14P.

Thanks for the answers so far - any one else?

I have a bigport 4a and that looks exactly the same as my computer.

Maybe grant (sixworks) can shed some light on the subject.

loox like an early 86kw type.
the later 100kw motors have grey connectors
take the lid off an the pins actually have the different functions printed on the circuit board.

The ECU numbers for the bigport in my sprinter read
89661-12140
175700-0411

I hope that narrows it down.

Grega: I took the lid off, and it does have labels printed next to the pins, where they are soldered to the circuit board, but nothing more descriptive than STA, IGT, VISC, STH, PIM, VTA, etc. Some are easy to workout e.g. IGT = ignition, IDL = idle, but I still don't know what tells me whether its MAP or AFM...

ae86trueno: where did you find the ECU table? I have searched on the web and not found much...

Because I got it from the guy who sold me my Sprinter, (he did the 4AG-ZE engine swap in it) I really thought it would be for that engine...

optionup.....its MAP

PIM goes to the MAP sensor
VISC is idle up i think the can thats on the TVIS
STH dunno
STA is starter
IGT is ignition but there should also be IGF - IGF tells the ECU that IGT didn't complete (ie: failed ignition)
VTA can't remember
