Hi, im looking at either putting a 1g gte manual into my soarer or a 1jz gte auto.
Its currently a 1g geu with auto box and terribly slow.
Im wondering a few things and would like some help i possible.
1. how muchextra to install into my soarer for the 1jz considering it wont be as straight forward(engine mounts etc)
2. which would be faster with stock engine, 1g gte man or 1jz auto.(car is 1200kg)
3.would i be able to keep my digital dash working?(i REALLY would like to.)
Thats all I can think of for now, thanks

I would go for the 1J personally, much higher kW rating than the 1G.... 140 or 150kw compared to the 1J's 206?? (correct me if i'm wrong someone) it has more torque than the 1G too being a 2500cc
thats my opinion... can't really answer any of your other questions though except that the stock auto 1J would probably still kick the pants out of a stock 1G manual

my mates Cressida got 167rwkw with just a 3" exhaust and a performance air filter! i'm not sure on the quarter time but i'd expect it to be somewhere in the low 14's... maybe high 13's!

1200kg GZ-20? is that without the engine?
speak to Danish.. hes has actually done the swap of a 1j into a gz20..
I agree with danners, the 1j is a better option of downright power, but if the car actually does weigh 1200, the 1g wouldnt be too bad as its lighter it would make it a better track car.

Hehe, just curious, a lot of the GZ10's I come across are in Perth, we seem to get an adundance of the older cars
speakafreaka,
He meant GZ10, the one before. Think along the lines of a squarer GZ20 with a Mk2 Supra/Celica XX driveline.

Dude, read the thread title... it's for a GZ10. Basically an uglier version of the MA61 Supra.
