Custom Lights on ST185/ST185 or Mk II/III Supra

Has anyone done or seen a conversion to make the pop-up headlights on the above cars to make them only come up half way, with two smaller round lights (or something similar)?
A website with pics or info on this would be cool, even if its another car with this mod, so i can at least get an idea on whats involved.
Thanks all.

The half-asleep headlight look is gay. Why go to all that effort to make your car look stupid?

chuckles!
not only is it well pointed out to be gay , but wouldnt it mean that your lighting power would suddenly be as effective as say - shining a pencil torch into the distance ?
Stick with a decent H4 conversion or similar - up the bulb ewattage and put in the appropriate relays - and be safe !

no you can stick them in that position if you REALLY wanted to by manually winding them.. take the cap of the little winder and wind away!

time for a serious answer
manually winding them doesnt work
you need to install a stepper motor controller that will allow you to adjust the 'zero' point of the motors to a new position. that way you can still get the things to then pop up and down when you turn the lights on....
that said - its a fuckin ridiculous idea. the ONLY reason you could EVER contemplate doing it, would be if you removed the headlight glass, and used it as a cold air intake port - see GT's avatar for an example on the MA70...
cheers

yeah they won't work properly if you wind them...but you will have the 'effect' till you turn them on

Or you need lights like mine. Crank it all the way fast, and the lights dont come up. Bring it back a notch and they come up. If you crank them all the way, then click it back for a second to set them where you want....found out by accident...
Doesn't change the fact its ghey...

Yeah, very gay.
I have seen a mk3 around Adelaide with this conversion done. And not only does it looks stupid, but the lights a)aren't effective and b) point everywhere but where they are supposed to.
And I don't drive a commonwhore either, mk2 or ke70 for me

Im agreeing with everybody else..... GAY GAY GAY ;p A bit like ricers and their shopping trolley excels ;p
That said I do think that if the light assembly is completely removed and a Nissan R390 style light is put in its place it would look quite good... Ive seen it done on a ST185 and SW20 before... All custom work so your on your own.
