i have redone my roof lining in my 74 ta22, for the job to be done properly the windows do need to come out as the lining tucks under the window rubber, i guess it could be done with the windows in, but it would be easier if the windows were out. I had to do it all by myself and i found it a prick to get the lining straight without any creases. And another tip, dont do it while ur drunk, it doesnt help when trying to find where the holes are for the sun visors, and seat belts Very Happy

I also replaced mine, I had my mum sew up a nice velour one Smile, and yeah you gotta remove the windscreens.
Before you put the lining in, go out & spend about $5 on those black springy clips you get from stationery shops, you need about 50 of them, but the smallest cheapest ones are perfect.
Then just use the clips to hold the lining to where it folds under the windscreen seal, have one evry 10cm or so, then just go around & straighten it up one clip at a time. Once it's all perfect give it a trim, so it doesn't come too far past the windscreen seal, otherwise it will act like a wick & draw in any moisture that works its way past your chrome surround, then get some contact adhesive & go around & stick it all down, a small section at a time, replacing all the clips.
Once it's dried for a while (leave the clips on for as long as possible), the winscreen will be easy to install & your roof lining won't wrinkle as it's being installed.

I need to put a new one in my car. My windscreen is out so I'll do it after I get the re-spray.

When you say black springy clips do you mean bulldog clips????

I was looking at getting a nice velour one, I can sew myself up one in no time. Smile
