hi guys

i wired up a 4agze in a sprinter recently

the customer says its idling funny sometimes

idles up and down sort off

coul;d this be due to him turning the intake around on the manifold, it used to face towards back of engine he now turned it around to face front of car and some vacuum ports are now blocked

or could it be due to it having an external thermostat on the
bottom rad hose therefore gettin the wrong temp reading

if anyone has done this conversion have u turned the intake around to face the front??

I've seen this pipe reversed before. "Sprinter" on these forums did it in his car and apparently has been running it for several years. Best to ask him personally though.

I think it is generally common to flip this pipe when GZEing a Sprinter, so I doubt it would be causing the idle problem.

my intake pipe is spun around, but im currently not running a thermostat. my idle goes up and down but i thought it was due to having a solid s/c pulley.

Hi Sideshow,

what ecu is it running? if aftermarket then it could be tuning..
could be running too adavanced timing for idle, 14-17 usually keeps a gze happy, also couild be too lean, this will cause hunting...

make sure the blower is disabled at idle,
