Heyas.
Got an AE86 with 100kw ae92 4AGE engine. Want to get a lightened flywheel for it. Any recommendations to weight? I've been told that under 5.5kg on an ae86 is a waste but my friend has a 4.6kg steel one in his rolla and its crazy, just hard to do hill starts.. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers

The stocky one is about 8 kilos, the billet one I got made for mine ended up about 6, which is far too heavy still (I had words to those responosible...), 4 kilos should be fine...

All non-blacktop 4AGE's have a 7kg flywheel. Blacktop's are 5.5kgs. I run a 3kg one on my 4AGE and it's okay but takes a little getting used to.

i got a 3.6kg cro-mo flywheel on my RWD 4AGE, and i love it!!! like bill said it takes a bit of getting used to, but in my opinion, the car is no less drivable than it was before, it just revs faster and pulls better!!! one down side is that when decelerating there is a big increase in drivetrain vibration, and i have noticed a lot more noise coming from my gearbox since i put in the flywheel.
