Hi all,
Done a little bit of scratching around and have come up with pretty much nix. I'm wondering if anyone has done a brake upgrade for the sv21 camry before? I'm inclined to believe that celica st165 discs and calipers would do the trick and sw20 mr2 atmo's might too but it's hard coming up with dimensions. They're to go under 15" rims. I've seen a bloke with a 3s-gte sv21 camry on a pulsar forum it's got something like 300 mm discs, could this be rav4 items?
DBA only offer a vented slotted upgrade, and they're only for the standard caliper as far as they could tell me.
Much appreciated if you could throw some info this way or know of anything like this done before...
Have not done this job but with the 165's brakes being very similar in size to the SV21 I can't see any advantage in going this way. If you are trying to squeeze under 15 inch rims maybe look at the st185 rotors, 278mm vented fronts, 288mm solid rears.
I don't know if those calipers would even bolt onto your Camry
struts. This is all I know and can suggest. Good luck.
Mitch.
Yes, my SV21 Camry has GT4 single piston brakes off a ST185. It's a straight bolt on mod but you have to have 15" wheels at a minimum. I had a tech article at one stage. Max never got around to putting it up.
