1. 4age 86kw??
2. 4age 100kw?
3. 4age 20v
4. 4agze..
i've sat on a 4agze Corolla SEG model before and it was sick ...imagine it on a ae86..
and how much the full complete conversion kit would cost me for each of these engine?
cheers

If its power you want go the 4agze, watch for insurance thou.
Budget for a few gearbox rebuilts as the standard t50 doesnt take it to well.
Otherwise the 86kw is the easiest swap, not that the others are hard just a bit more mucking around.
Just my 2cents worth, good luck with it all

FWIW, the RWD 4AGE's are not 86kW, they're 96kW.
They all come from Japan and in every Japanese magazine they are rated at 130PS, or abotu 128hp, or about 96kW.
Take one of each type for a drive to see which you like - I think you'll like the 4AGZE one ...

Can I ask what is the different between the AE82 4AGE (bigport, tvis, map sensor) engine, and the Japanese RWD 4AGE? Where does the extra 10 or so KW come from, is it only the ECU, or compression ratios etc?
As I have a AE82 4AGE in my AE86 with a RWD inlet and exhaust manifold on it. Would be cool if I could just replace the ECU with a jap spec one to get another 10kw. Or is this extra power increase found internally?
Thanks
Joel

I wouldn't be surprised if fuel quality was most of the reason for the 10kW difference. The 96kW figure is probably only attainable on 100 RON Japanese rocket fuel; run the same engine on our crap 91 RON unleaded and it could conceivably lose 10kW.

I think its just that the Japanese horses are smaller.
