I actually thought that coding referred to an open-centre. We had a similar coding on our Soarer diff, and were told that it was open-centre, (This would gel with the fact that it had TRC, and that the (rare) LSDs in Soarers had a code of A01B or A02B - The "B" being the LSD denominator...)
Still, the codes could be different across models???

It is NOT an LSD. The Torsen LSD model codes end in 'B' as previously stated. eg. A01B and A02B.

then why does my dads prado diff have a "LSD OIL ONLY" sticker on it?
unless the A01A actually refers to the diff that drives the front wheels

No idea, but the A01A is the same as the non-LSD diff in the Supra.
