fitting a mongoose to my JZA70 soon.. its off an MA70 but i was just wondering where the cutoff point is between the two exhausts ie where does the incompatibility point occur? ie Cat?Bottom of the downpipe? Halfway up the downpipe? 4inches away from the Y pipe? etc etc..
Not sure if this helps but I bolted my stock jza-70 downpipe (from the half-cut) straight onto my stock ma70 (NA 1986.5) cat converter. Strange but true
yep thats basically the reverse of what im going to be doing. The reason your downpipe bolted up is that the cat is in the sameposition on both the MA70 and the JZA70.. but the downpipes themselves are different.. what im trying to do is get as much of the MA70 exhaust/downpipe bolted up to the 1JZ engine as i can... basically following the route going from the back of the exhaust up to the engine.
