Got the car on the road now i can't drive her because of what i think is fuel issues. it can idle but can't hold revs have to keep pumping accel, absoultly craps itself when you slip the clutch and give it a little more throttle the revvs goes down to like 200rpm and can sometimes stall and if you rev her right up to like 4-5000rpm you can sometimes get away but you mustr keep pumping accel and it does the same in 2nd 3rd 4th 5th. Whilst trying to hold speed i.e 60km/h / 100km/h the car jerks severly like the fuel is being delivered without a breather in there, like when you turn the tap on, with say a 20litre drum of oil without loosening the cap/lid the oil comes out on off on off, splurt, splurt, splurt ect...
have checked fuel cap and it's not causing it but the srange thing is the car drove to a from work about 12km's all up great and then the next day back to crapper mode and since has been undriveable in this state as it can take like 4 stalls and reving the engine heaps to to take off for a green light, by the time you get going it's bloody orange.
any idea's guys?
any help is muchly thanked,
Alex
spelling. also this started after driving 40km then stopped for 5hrs then 20km into to 40km drive back it started, prior to this i haden't drive this far only to work and back each day.

yes, why should i just buy a whole newer working carb eh? that's what the mechanic at work told me
any idea's i've mess with the mixture screw to no avail. 99% of the time it can idle (missing away though) unless you've just revved her right up and she just stop like you've turned off the key.

I had the exact same problem on my 2T! It ended up being the carby. It was completely farked so a weber was fitted which still had problems! We then blocked off the fuel return and everything was sweet from then on
But your problem could be because of a totally different reason

Shit mate i'm not telling you to replace the carby! Your could be perfectly ok.
Mine was a 32/36? Webber with an adaptop plate. Normally this carby is a cable type but can be worked by the linkages which is what I did. This engine and carby is now in my girlfriends car if you wish to see it sometime.
If you are keen on changing carbys let me know and I can give you the details of the place that originally fitted mine.

has it got the mechanical or electrical fuel pump?
had the mechanical on my 2T, always got fuel vaporisation when it was a warm day, or the car had warmed up and couldn't start the thing, and it would occasionally stall.
i would focus on the pump before the carbie, maybe try pouring petrol down the carby and see if you can rev it then. also could be mixture/timing..
