exhaust size for revvy 18rg

g'day,
I'm going to be sticking an 18rg in my car soon, and I'm just wondering what an ideal exhaust size would be for it. It's got aftermarket cams and makes peak power pretty high up in the revs. I've already asked around a few places and their opinions have fluctuated anywhere between 2" and 2.5". I'm thinking either 2.25 or 2.5 would probably be best. Is there any formula available or something to give me an idea on what would be best?
Thanks in advance,
Trent

it's a 2 litre n/a, so I'd be getting a good set of extractors (most important!), 2.5" into your cat, then 2.25 the rest of the way.
if you dont have a cat, 2.25 all the way.
remember, as exhaust gas gets futher away from the engine it cools, thus reducing in volume, thus needing a smaller exhaust diameter (hence the 2.5 -> 2.25 idea)

I have a 2.5" exhaust on my stock 18R-GEU, and that's probably a touch too big (and very loud!), but for a modified example it would probably work well. If noise level is a concern, Draven's suggestion is a good one.
