any specs on the new 2zz from the late model silly car....rich friend of my dads just got one couple days back and its 6-spd man and is brand new-ish and 100% stock
-2zz performance figures would be something impressive i could throw at him next time i go see him

The engine between the 2003 and the 2000 hasn't changed much though the red line in the 2000 is at 7800rpm and the 2003 is at 8400rpm *Exact figures I can't remember*.

The earlier models were redlined at 7800RPM and fuel cutoff is at 8300RPM or thereabouts. I believe the Corolla Sportivo is redlined at 8300, I don't know if the current Celica is redlined any higher or not, certainly the UK & Japanese models were. In any case maximum performance can only be realised by changing as close to fuel cut as possible to try and keep the engine on the high lift cam.
