What's the difference between the 5M-E and the 5M-EU ?

Hiya
I'm new to this board...but a long time Toyota owner...this is my first post actually...
I was just wondering if someone could tell me if there is any difference between the 5M-E and 5M-EU engines? My MK2 Supra has a 5M-EU engine and I just wanted to know if this is what all Aussie MK2's got or only some? Any difference in horsepower over the 5M-E?
Thanx in advance for any help...glad to be a member of an all AUSSIE Toyota board...

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the "U" designation indicates that it's a JDM, or more exact it's Jap emissions...

I didn't even know the 5m came with a "U" code... but yeah, it's just the emissions unit. It would be of a comparable power

There is a power loss in the engine because the "U" Designation i believe were fitted with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation and the car would inhale "dirty" air to make it cleaner...

The U does stand for Jap emissions to the best of my knowledge
.
Also the "U"'s have an "Air pump" which pumps air into the exhaust manifold to allow the exhaust gasses to burn a bit more and produce less emissions (and sap a few HP as well.. )
