Installing Guages

Hey, i am thinking of installing 3 guages in the little area below the CD player (where cup holders are) of my 1990 Celica. The guages I want so far are a tacho and vacuum pressure. They are all going to be small guages like 5cm's or something. I know how to install head units and the basics of car electronics EG relays diodes, lights and stuff, but how hard would it be to wire up the gauges. Getting the plastic and installing the guages into the dash will be easy, but how are these types of things wired up?
Thanks alot

very easily.
the boost gauge (vac pressure) will have 1 hose you connect to your inlet plenum, and 2 wires which you connect to a power source to light the gauge. make sure it's a variable source (like your dash lights or ciggy lighter) if you want to be able to dim them.
tacho likewise *should* be easy, but check first with someone who knows what the output is of the 1990 celica tacho wire... most a/m tachos use 12v

Whats the point of having a tacho down there? Doesn't a Celica already come with one? There is no real point to having it so far out of line of sight because it loses its usefulness.
This is why most new "performance" cars have a large tacho front and centre in the dash.

Yeah I do have a taco in the dash, and it's nice and big, the same size as the speedo. I just wanted one there because i was going to put the vacuum guage in there anyway, and i thought it would look lonely

Why not put a gauge you don't have already? ammeter, voltmeter (if you dont have one already), oil pressure (if you only have a low pressure light) or an oil temp gauge in with it?
Cheers
