Autronic SMC for around $1900. Then you will some extras for signal pickup and ignitor etc. Not much around for $1000.. Maybe a Microtech? Though you get what you pay for.

You could get a wolf3D for just over a grand i think and the 2D comes at about $900 but wether it takes a turbo or not ??
Extract from www.rankrotary.com.au
Kit includes: Wolf 3D Version 4 ECU, ECU mounting brackets, Wolf 3D version 4 hand controller, Main loom, Input trigger loom, Ignition output cable, Plug kit, Air temperature sensor, Water temp sensor, PC link cable, PC software, Window sticker, Installation manual, User guide manual, Warranty card
$1395.00
This probably what i will be getting soon as it looks on the money.
Cheers

If you have a laptop and do not want the hand controller you can save about $200. Then if you really want it you can buy it when the money is there. The only thing they are good for is changing the maps you have saved on the removable plug.

without the window sticker you save about $10 but no other sticker does the same job so you have to buy it in the long run, they retail @ $15 (don't quote me)so if you buy it with the kit you will be so much better off.
just taking the piss, don't get upset

I am currently using the WOLF 3D V4. It comes with everything that you need. The only hard thing you'll have to do is to modify the crank angle sensor in the dizzy if you want to run multicoils. And of course, the coils and ignitor is extra. A pretty decent computer for the price. Almost any computer is as good as the tuner.. get someone good to tune it, and most of computers will all run about the same and give similar power figures. The only difference is the drivability. Cheaper computers like the MicroTech suffers quite a bit in this department, especially if you're running a setup with low inlet manifold vacuum....
just my 2cents!!
Cheers!

Hey, are you the one with the AE86 from the last Auto Salon? The 4AGE with the 20V throttle bodies? Thought the car looked familiar. Last time I looked it was still being run in, but your dyno chart said 97kw at the wheels right? Any improvement since then?

justcallmefrank--> Yep. The motor was still in the running in stages then. The dyno of 97kW@the wheels was on the previous motor. Stock AE92 motor with 20V throttle bodies and 288 cams, nothing else done to it (engine wise that is)....then I got a bit too rev happy and dropped a b/e bearing. After running in, a couple of bearings in the gearbox decided to say its final farewells... Since then, I've been waiting for a few parts, stuff like a big-port head, a new gearset(sort of), a bigger exhaust cam, ARP Head and Mains Stud Kit, and a 1.0mm metal gasket. Hopefully should be run-in and ready for the next Perth Auto Salon (October)for the autokhana events!
Cheers!

Dont write off the microtech's yet. They are very cheap compared to other computers. The others have features but question is can you use them and would you want to.
Eg do you want to run nitrous? (microtech does nitrous actually)
Eg do you want to use an electronic boost controller, if super charged-no, if turbo maybe go stand alone down the track.
Eg do you want anti-lag? Maybe if you go offroad rallying?
Other than those and some other features the new microtech does all i currently and will ever need. 300HP at the wheels currently. You can wire it up in about 5 hours easily, has laptop programability which i absolutely love!!
If your budget is tight i'd go for it. Hawk haven't been in the market long so i dont know if they have started adding features yet like fan control.
