URGENT! - 2J wont start!!!

It started this morning and sounded awesome, if not a little loud.
I go to turn it over and when i do so i can hear a click, which i assume is either a fuse or the open circuit relay then all the lights in the dash cut out and the engine doesnt turn over!
im trying to get rego and this really doesnt help!

the prior owner of my car self-installed a kill switch and acidentally switched it on when leaving the car at the machanic for a service.
mechanic then couldnt move the car from the carpark to the workshop when required, + they couldnt contact the owner, so they then trouble shooted the WHOLE car's electrical system to find this two stage switch (which involved a relay on the reverse light in the boot panel amonst other things)...
cost him an utter fortune

Speaking of which!
My sister today drove to work, parked her car, worked all day then she couldn't start her car when she was trying to leave. Called dad to come help her out, he was an hour away in Mona Vale and left to come help her, so she called the NRMA in the meantime.
After a few minutes of trouble shooting the NRMA mechanic asked if the car was fitted with a kill switch. Didn't she look stupid!! hahahahahaha
How does one forget about a kill switch on your own car you drive everyday? Oh did i mention she is a blonde
