EFI Upgrade on 4AGE Thu, 18 September 2003 07:11 Go to next message
ok im looking into getting an aftermarket efi system, i know motec are the best so lets not start that discussion here.
What i really want to know is what else do i need to change over to lets say a Microtech LTX8 or on my 4AGE.
What sould i use as the input trigger, can i get the current distributer modified or am i better of using another type of trigger if running sequential ignition?? am i going to need anything else ??
Im a newbee when it comes to the electron side so anyone's help grateful

Thanks

Ben

my understanding is that the microtech mt/ltx8 will trigger off the 4 tooth rotor in the early type dizzy and the later type 100kw variety can be modified for it.

you could also look at a haltech ECU or wolf - i believe these can also run off the factory dizzy.

Thanks for the info guys, My 4AGE is a bigport, so by the sounds of it that will make things easier. The other ECU i had in mind was a Wolf V4, as they are both priced about the same, so thats good to hear, ill give you a buzz Henn if i decide on the Wolf instead of the Microtech.

Hi Micheal ill take you up on that offer ill give you a call next week and well sort something out, i have a nother race on sunday at Oran Park, so im a litle busy this weekend.

Thanks

Ben

the microtech will run off the 4 tooth trigger in the car perfectly, i have set a heap of these up and they work a treat and really give the motors a kick in the butt, the microtech will work with all the 4age pickups, weather it is 86kw, 100kw, 20v or GZE,

LTX12 retails at $1495,

so anything under $800 is a bargin, you will need to factor $200 for reprogramming to suit the 4age,
